A Hidden World Beneath Tam Coc
Explore nearly 300 meters of pristine cave passages, underground waterways, and hidden chambers beneath Tam Coc.
Most caves in Ninh Binh are viewed from a boat.
Hope Cavern is explored on foot.
You walk through nearly 300 meters of natural cave passages.
Surrounded by pristine stalactites.
Underground waterways.
Formations shaped over thousands of years.
No concrete walkways.
No colorful lights.
Just a natural underground world waiting to be discovered.
Hope Cavern is only part of the story.
Above the cave lies Phoenix Valley...
Here, one family has lived for more than 30 years...
Surrounded by limestone mountains on three sides, Phoenix Valley remains one of the least-known landscapes between Trang An and Tam Coc.
For more than three decades, Mr. Phoenix and his family have called this valley home.
While much of the region has changed, life in Phoenix Valley continues to follow the rhythm of the seasons.
Rice is planted and harvested.
Rice wine is still made.
Animals roam freely through the valley.
The landscape visitors enjoy today is the result of decades of care by a single family.
Before Phoenix Valley became a destination, it was simply home.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Phoenix and his family have lived here, growing rice, making rice wine, and adapting to the rhythms of nature.
Through floods, droughts, and changing times, they have remained connected to the valley and the traditions passed down through generations.
Today, visitors are invited not only to explore Hope Cavern and the surrounding landscape, but also to discover the story of the family who made this hidden valley their home.
Rice farming, rice wine making, fishing, free-ranging animals, and daily life continue much as they have for decades.
Hope Cavern is not yet a fully developed tourist destination.
For now, we welcome only a small number of visitors through advance bookings.
Those who visit today experience the valley much as it has existed for decades — quiet, natural, and largely undiscovered.
Hidden beneath Phoenix Valley, Hope Cavern reveals a fascinating underground world where ancient roots, limestone formations, and natural waterways meet in the darkness.
Hope Cavern is currently welcoming a limited number of visitors through advance reservations only.
Explore a hidden 300-meter cavern, discover Phoenix Valley, and meet the family who have called this landscape home for more than 30 years.
